Written and illustrated by Gege Akutami, the original Jujutsu Kaisen manga tells the story of Yuji Itadori, a student who lives in a world where negative energy called a Curse can bring disaster. Itadori’s life changed as he became a student at a school that trains Curse exterminators.
The manga has been serialised in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump since March 2018 and received an anime adaptation that began airing in October 2020. In Indonesia, the manga has been published by Elex Media Komputindo since January 2021.
The anime adaptation has reached its third season, with the first season premiering on 3 October 2020. At the time of this writing, they are currently airing their third season, which premiered on 9 January 2025. MAPPA produced the anime adaptation.
In addition to the original manga and anime adaptation, Jujutsu Kaisen has also been adapted into a spin-off manga, Jujutsu Kaisen 0. The manga was also published in Indonesia in August 2022, while the film adaptation of Jujutsu Kaisen 0 was screened in Indonesia on 16 March 2022, after a series of early screening events from 13 to 15 March 2022.
Another spin-off sequel of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga series, titled Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, is published in Shueisha’s Weekly Shounen Jump from September 2025 to March 2026.
